Kick la Renaissance

Those of you who have been observing Montreal's electro house scene in the last few years have probably heard about Robeat.


For those who have not, here's a little fast-forward bio : Jo & Éric teamed up with VJ Akolad and have since tried to offer the masses a nice electro-italo-disco-tech evening with nice visuals & vibes. They've done the Dogue (believe it or not), the Mile End Bar and most recently a S.A.T. Mix Session.

But the wind seems to be blowing on the scene these days in Montreal and the supremacy of some promoters remains questionable. There's a slow rise of young blood, and to be honest, I sure hope Robeat will be among them. And to launch & celebrate this new spirit, and these new resolutions, there's a fiesta going on this coming Friday.

Théâtre Plaza has recently seen a slow rise of booked events. Norway's Annie played there last year, and it's no longer just the Kino guys that are using the place. The owner has kept the place in shape, and its old-school look is intact. The setting is perfect for a decadent party, and you should easily see decadence if you drop by on Friday.

On top of the quality house provided by Deebacc & Fancy Fhreek from 10 to 12, yours truly will rock the house until 1, and the Robeat team will take over until 3. If you like your rythms eclectic yet strong, bleepy and analogue, italo discotic and psychotic, I believe this is the place you should be.

Tickets are 4$ in advance & 6 to 8$ at the door, depending on when you arrive. Go back in the past visually, and take a step forward into the future sonically - we'll be waiting for you !
