Tiga: The Canadian Colossus

Pete Tong recently dubbed Tiga "The Canadian Collossus" when he stopped by his Essential Mix program on the UK's BBC Radio One to perform a DJ set.

I wasn't convinced the last few times I heard Tiga deejay. I thought maybe that working on the new album took too much time and that his deejaying was getting just a wee bit stale, at least during the last half of 2005.

Then again I am a demanding MoFo.

Just have a look at My February article about Tiga's Sexor, should you need any proof.

When I listened to Tiga's Essential Mix, I was however pleasantly surprised: The man is back on top of his game. His appearance on Pete Tong's show was just a thing of beauty and reminded me of why I love to hear Tiga drop some vinyls.

I don't know about the Canadian Colossus part - When he's behind the decks he does work wonders, so why not? With a nickname like that, Tiga is bound to become the new Canadian crime-fighting super-hero.

So here's to you, and your new record, Canadian Colossus!

In case you miss tonight's Montréal gig – or if you just don't live around here - you can salivate over Tiga's Essential Mix, available for a free download from Sick Mix.
