DJ T + Cut Throat Republic @ SAT

This year, Halloween was coming early. On Friday, October 28 as a matter of fact, as SAT was hosting Neon Loves Halloween, featuring DJ T, Cut Throat Republic, Plastique de Rêve, Water Lilly & Jordan Dare. Only about a third of the SAT's main room was opened for the event, which was far from being overcrowded. The set up was pretty simple: a few screens here and there, and black lights.

Water Lilly, Plastique de Rêve and Jordan Dare all did a good job warming up the room (or keeping the fire burning), but Cut-Throat Republic and DJ T still gathered the crowd's attention.

Cut Throat Republic is Jordan Dare & Sean Kosa's electro-rock band. Their live set-up also features Mateo Murphy and Pat Wreck. They gave a good show, and I'm definitely hoping they release a record sometime soon.

DJ T gave an interesting performance, focused on electro, perhaps more so than usual in order to please the Neon crowd. He nevertheless decided to slow it down a bit in the middle of his set and dropped a classic on us, namely 'Chase The Devil' by Max Romeo, which I hadn't heard in quite a while (outside the confines of my home, that is). A nice little break from the norm.

All in all, a good evening. Hopefully, I Love Neon will bring more artists from Get Physical! to Montréal next year. I need another Full Body Workout !

Water Lilly + Plastique de Rêve @ Parking

On October 27, DJ Mini invited two DJs to help her celebrate her own Overdose night's fourth anniversary.

Mini discreetly began the evening and rapidly let Water Lilly take over. The Swiss DJ/Producer performed a first-rate electro set.

Christophe 'Daze' Dasen, aka Plastique de Rêve, concluded the evening with his own brand of Swiss electro.

Not much to say – I know! But it was cool to see both Water Lilly and Plastique de Rêve DJ in Montréal on the same night, at the same club. Hopefully, we'll get to hear Crowdpleaser and St-Plomb in Montréal soon to complete the Swiss electro circle.

Happy birthday Overdose!

DJ Mini and Water Lilly have nice web sites. I haven't managed to find an official web site for Plastique de Rêve, so enjoy this nice site on Plastic Bertrand instead.
