Night Vision 2.01

First Night Vision of the year. Gotta clap our hands on some random booty to celebrate this.



There's no reason to meditate over 2006 - it's been a great year, no mistakes, but I have a feeling that 2007 will be even better. We've heard about some surprise guests to various events between the branches, and when the time comes our readers will be the first to read about 'em, of course. There's a shitload of nice music coming up, and it should be delivered to your ears on a dancefloor, very fuckin' soon.

The biggest excitement I felt lately is when I learned that BPitch Control's star Kiki was coming to town. He'll stop by Mini's Overdose at Parking on Feb. 15th and it's kind of... un-missable. If you've heard his Boogie Bytes mix, you know what I mean.

We also heard some rumours about Jesse Rose, the house prodigy who recently mixed Get Physical's 3rd "Body Language" mix. Will he stop in Montreal ? Will you be blown away ? Wait & see - teasing is believing.



Closer to home, after a rather positive experience with the Extend Mondays, Mirrorballs is proud to present the next step : F.A.M.E. Held once a month on a Thursday night, always at Academy, this new night will continue in the same vein as its predecessor, but should be better attended due to its more friendly time slot. The launch will feature Clifford Brown, Jason Pelletier from Ottawa's Techcetera nights, and our very own Maüs.


Thursday 11/01



The buzz in town is directed towards Parking, where Mini receives New Order's legendary bass player, Peter Hook, for a DJ set at her Overdose night. The guy is huge, and don't let his grey hair fool ya : he delivers.

Hatiras, who for some reason is still famous, appears at Club 1234.

Happy birthday Dialect ! It's time to soak you in birthday cake at Saphir's Mix Thursdays, with DJ Oewer & Rhys Taylor.


Friday 12/01

Soul's in the house ! Yoruba head Osunlade is featured at Pub St-James' THERAPY night, with Jojoflorès. Those of you who like afro-latin house and good vibes will be served !



Éloi Brunelle & The Autist's "Groove Mechanics" monthly takes place at Stereobar, and you know the beats will be tightly packed, jammed & delivered. May da funk be with you !

For the afterhour heads, Jeff Fontaine is billed with Maher Daniel & Ned Shepard at Stereo.


Saturday 13/01

Don't you know that 13 is a number you should be wary of ? Don't walk under a ladder. Don't open your umbrella inside. If you see a black cat, feel bad. And for fuck's sake, don't leave your hat on my bed. But most of all, don't leave your place, because it will be cold outside, in your heart too, and there's nothing to do.


Sunday 14/01

Sunday is the new Saturday, peeps ! Maher Daniel lingers in town long enough to re-appear at No Excuse, at Stereobar, alongside Bender. You know where the action is.



Over on St-Laurent, at Saphir's Beat me Up night, our two lovely hostesses Mz Sunday Luv & Mary Hell receive saxonite Nellboy for a live set, and CPI. Shooters, bites & hard beats will be randomly distributed.


Tuesday 16/01

Salon Daomé's Telephunk night welcomes Poontz, and Nathan Burns will introduce him to an evergrowing crowd. I feel like dancing on the ceiling.
